LiFePO4 (lithium-iron-phosphate) batteries have incredible power density and longevity, making them perfect for off-grid applications where weight and lifespan are key factors. Eco Tree batteries offer great value and performance, and are a popular choice for campervan conversions. The Eco Tree lithium leisure batteries have an impressive cycle life of 3500 cycles at 80% DOD.

Eco Tree heated lithium leisure batteries are perfect for off-grid applications where deep discharging is required and weight and size are key considerations, and where the battery will be used in a cold climate below 0°C. The built-in heater will ensure the battery is kept above 0°C to ensure it can continue charging without being damaged.

The Eco Tree 100Ah lithium battery weighs 13kg and has M8 threaded connection posts.

The 12.8V Eco Tree lithium batteries consist of 4 cells connected in series.

Please note: Up to 2 Eco Tree batteries can be connected together in parallel, creating a total battery bank of 200Ah.

Lifespan of Eco Tree lithium leisure batteries

• 80% DoD – 3500 cycles
• 70% DoD – 4000 cycles
• 50% DoD – 5500 cycles

This means that a lithium leisure battery specced to provide 3 full days of power based on your daily power usage, when used every day (i.e. in full-time usage applications) will have a lifespan of around 15-20 years. For comparison, an AGM leisure battery of the same specification and usage will have a lifespan of around 3-4 years.

Lithium leisure batteries – use cases

Lithium leisure batteries can be deeply discharged by over 90% of their total capacity. This means that the vast majority of the battery’s capacity can be accessed. The power density of lithium batteries means that they are over 50% lighter and smaller than their lead-acid counterparts. These attributes combine to make lithium batteries perfect for off-grid applications where weight and space is a key consideration, such as campervans and boats.

Lithium leisure batteries are ideal for anyone with regular full-time usage such as living on a narrowboat or full-time van lifers, as their long lifespan means they will not need to be replaced after a short number of years like a lead-acid battery.

• Discharge: -20°C to +60°C
• Charge: 0°C to +45°C

The built-in heater will keep the leisure battery’s temperature above 0°C to ensure charging can continue, no matter where the battery is being used.
