Sterling 40A Battery to Battery Charger – 12V to 12V Bidirectional DC-DC Charger
The Sterling 40A bidirectional DC-DC charger is a battery to battery (B2B) charger. This means it’s a leisure battery charger that charges your leisure batteries from the alternator in your vehicle. Charge while you drive, arriving wherever your next adventure takes you with full batteries.

The Sterling 40A battery to battery charger is for use in systems with a 12V leisure battery and a 12V starter battery.
Optimised and safe charging for all battery types
All Sterling battery to battery chargers incorporate Buck Boost design, which offers an exceptionally high efficiency of 95 – 98%. Buck Boost and intelligent current limiting also ensure that the battery charges safely, promoting battery health. The device allows you to select a charging regime depending on your battery type, whether lithium, AGM, gel, or flooded. The intelligent B2B charger then selects a specific charging curve that matches the specific state of your batteries, using an advanced analysis algorithm.
Sterling chargers also incorporate 6 self recovering protections, including overcharge and overvoltage, to ensure your batteries are always charged safely.

Perfect for installation in an electric vehicle
Installing a battery to battery charger between your EV’s 12V battery and your leisure battery provides greater safety and efficiency. Sterling B2Bs intelligently moderate and manage the flow of current from your EV’s batteries. This ensures both your EV’s battery and your leisure battery never drain each other of charge. It also protects your leisure batteries from overcharging or experiencing too high a voltage.
Bidirectional charging
The 40A Sterling charger is bidirectional, meaning that it manages current flow in both directions. This means that it uses excess charge in your leisure battery to top up your starter battery. Very useful for long periods where you don’t run your engine, as well as cold mornings. Note that this feature will never drain your leisure battery – only surplus charge is used.
