A battery subsystem kit includes everything you need to install a Fogstar lithium battery as part of your off-grid electrical system. This kit includes a Lynx Distributor and a choice of Fogstar lithium batteries, as well as all required cables, fuses, lugs and switches to fully install the subsystem. It includes:
- Pick from 280Ah, 460Ah, 560Ah or 2x 460Ah Fogstar Drift PRO battery
- Cerbo GX system monitoring (if selected)
- Lynx Distributor & grounding busbar
- Battery isolator switch
- Required DC cable, cable lugs & fuses
- Choose a 225A, 250A, 300A or 400A system fuse (see description for advice on how to choose)
Is this kit suitable for me?
This battery subsystem kit includes a Lynx Distributor. We have included options for 225A, 250A, 300A or 400A system fuses. The use cases below can help you choose which is most suitable for you:
- 225A fuse – up to 200A system current (e.g. 12V loads & 1600VA inverter)
- 250A fuse – up to 225A system current (e.g. 12V loads & 2000VA inverter)
- 300A fuse – up to 270A system current (e.g. higher 12V loads & 2000VA inverter)
- 400A fuse – up to 360A system current (e.g. 12V loads & 3000VA inverter)
Please note – if you need a 400A fuse, you will need 2x Drift PRO batteries. The Drift PRO batteries have a max discharge current of 300A per battery. So, for systems with a higher system current, you’ll need two Drift Pro batteries working in parallel.
If your total system current is higher than this, take a look at our other battery kits 🔋
Which battery should I choose?
Your required battery capacity will depend on several factors:
- How much time you will spend off-grid
- How often you will use your van
- What appliances you will use off-grid
- What recharging methods you have
Generally, we recommend calculating your daily power usage, and then multiplying this by 3. This should give you a rough idea of how much battery capacity you need. If you want more help speccing your electrical system, check out our electrical design service, Nohma.

Why Fogstar?
Fogstar are the UK’s leading lithium battery retailer. We believe they offer the best balance of performance and affordability. So, that’s why we include Fogstar batteries in our bespoke off-grid electrical systems.
Fogstar Drift app
All Fogstar Drift batteries have Bluetooth by standard. So, you can connect to your battery via your smartphone to monitor its performance and state of charge. This means you don’t need to include an additional battery monitor in your system.
Please note: If you choose to include a Cerbo GX in your system, the Fogstar Drift Pro batteries interfaces directly with the Cerbo. So, we will include an RJ45 cable so you can connect your battery to the Cerbo. If we have included a Drift battery, we will also include a SmartShunt so you can connect your battery to the Cerbo.
Built-in heater
Lithium batteries cannot be recharged in low temperatures. Because of this, all of the Fogstar Drift batteries have a built-in heater as standard. So, no matter the temperature, you can recharge your electrical system, and your adventures can continue.
