Bluetti AC50S – PowerOak Portable Power Generator 500Wh
The Bluetti AC50S is a 500Wh portable power generator that provides an all-in-one solution to an off-grid electrical system. Featuring a lithium leisure battery, a 300W inverter and a charge controller, the Bluetti AC50S makes a popular option for off-grid power.
500Wh lithium leisure battery
This Bluetti AC50S portable power generator has a 500Wh lithium battery. This battery has a lifecycle of 1000 cycles. After this time the battery capacity will be reduced to ~80% of its total.
Below you can see an example of how long the battery will last charging various appliances:
- Phone – 45 charges
- Laptop – 5 charges
- Drone – 7 charges
- Camera – 23 charges
300W inverter
The built-in inverter has a total continuous rating of 300W and a surge rating of 450W. This means you can power a mains appliance rated up to 300W, such as laptops, hair straighteners and camera chargers.
Recharging methods
The AC50S has a built-in MPPT charge controller, meaning you can recharge the power station using a portable solar panel. As well as solar, it’s also possible to recharge the PowerOak using a mains plug socket or a 12V car socket.
Recharging times:
- 120W solar panel – 4-5 hours
- Mains plug socket – 5 hours
- Car cigarette lighter socket – 6 hours
Multiple output ports
The AC50S features the following output ports:
- 4x 12V USB-A port
- 1x 12V USB-C port
- 2x 12V DC outlet
- 1x 12V car cigarette lighter socket
- 2x 230V plug socket (up to 300W)
It also features a wireless charging pad rated up to 15W, suitable for recharging newer mobile phone models.
Built-in BMS (battery management system)
The integrated BMS ensures the lithium battery is fully protected from over and under-voltage, short circuit and low temperatures.
LCD screen
An LCD display allows you to monitor the state of charge and power usage, displaying power in via charging methods and power out from appliance usage.
Use cases
The AC50S is suitable for off-grid applications such as campervans, overlanders, and camping trips.
