Dometic CFX5 45 - Compressor Cool Box - 45L Portable Fridge Freezer
The Dometic CFX5 45 is a portable compressor cool box designed for keeping food and drinks chilled or frozen whilst travelling. Its rugged construction and generous capacity make it well suited to campervans, motorhomes, boats and camping trips where reliable refrigeration is needed away from home.
The CFX5 45 has an actual internal volume of 46L and can operate as either a fridge or freezer, with an adjustable temperature range from +20°C down to -22°C. It can be powered from a 12V or 24V DC electrical system, or connected to a 110-240V AC supply when mains power is available.

Power consumption
The Dometic CFX5 45 has a rated current draw of 9.4A at 12V or 4.1A at 24V. This represents the rated input current rather than continuous average consumption, as the compressor cycles and varies its speed during normal operation. Actual daily energy consumption will depend on factors including ambient temperature, the selected internal temperature and how frequently the lid is opened.

Efficient cooling and insulation
The CFX5 45 uses Vacuum Insulated Panels to reduce heat transfer through the walls of the cool box. Combined with Dometic's variable-speed compressor and extended evaporator around the internal walls, this helps maintain an even internal temperature whilst allowing the compressor to adjust its output to suit the cooling demand.
Smartphone temperature control
The Dometic Mobile Cooling app allows you to control the CFX5 45 from your smartphone, monitor the internal temperature and track energy consumption. The app can also alert you if the lid is left open, store operating history and connect to multiple compatible cool boxes.
Portable 46L storage
The 46L interior can hold up to 72 x 330ml cans and ten 1.5L bottles. A removable wire divider helps keep food and drinks organised, whilst self-folding aluminium alloy handles make the unit easier to lift and transport.
The CFX5 45 measures 398mm wide, 694mm deep and 476mm high including the handles, and weighs approximately 21kg.
