Victron Orion 24/12-70 DC-DC Converter – 24V to 12V 70A Non-isolated Converter (IP20)

The Victron Orion 24/12-70 non-isolated DC-DC converter converts 24V power to 12V, so you can power 12V appliances on a 24V electrical system. This 70A model outputs up to 70A.

This model can also be used as a battery charger. This means that it can charge a 24V starter or accessory battery in an otherwise 12V system, and it has an adjustable output voltage range of 10V-15V.

This model can function in parallel to increase output current. Up to 5 units can be connected in parallel.

DC-DC converter

A DC-DC converter converts the input voltage of 24V to the output voltage of 12V.

Isolation

Non-isolated DC-DC converters are suitable for systems that share a common negative chassis ground between the starter battery and the rest of the electrical system.

Connection points

This DC-DC converter is available with bolt terminal or binding post connection points:

• Bolt terminal – strip your input and output wires of a short length of insulation and attach ring lug connectors to the cable. Secure the ring lugs to the bolts by tightening the nuts.
• Binding post – strip your input and output wires of a short length of insulation and attach ring lug connectors to the cable. Secure the ring lugs to the bolts by screwing up the binding posts.

DC-DC converter – use cases

In a system with multiple voltages, a DC-DC converter is needed to convert the main system voltage to the desired voltage. E.g. in a system with 12V leisure batteries, a DC-DC converter converts 12V to 24V to power any 24V appliances.

You can use the Orion DC-DC converters for both lead-acid and lithium batteries. We stock models up to 400W.

Suitable for high temperatures up to 55°C with a full rated output up to 40°C.
