Victron Orion 24/12-80 DC-DC Converter - 24V to 12V 80A Non-isolated Converter (IP20)

The Victron Orion 24/12-80 non-isolated DC-DC converter converts 24V power to 12V, so you can power 12V appliances on a 24V electrical system. This 80A model outputs up to 80A.

It can charge a 12V starter or accessory battery in an otherwise 24V system, and it has an adjustable output voltage range of 10V-15V.

This model can function in parallel to increase output current. Up to 5 units can be connected in parallel.

DC-DC converter

A DC-DC converter converts the input voltage of 24V to the output voltage of 12V.

Isolation

Non-isolated DC-DC converters are suitable for systems that share a common negative chassis ground between the starter battery and the rest of the electrical system.

M6 bolt connection points

This DC-DC converter has M6 bolt connection points. So, you will need to strip your input and output wires of a short length of insulation and attach M6 ring terminals to the cable. Attach the ring terminals to the bolts and tighten the nut with a wrench. For M6 steel bolts, standard torque is roughly 4.5 to 6 Nm (40–50 in-lbs). Do not over tighten, or you risk snapping the bolt or stripping the threads.

DC-DC converter – use cases

In a system with multiple voltages, a DC-DC converter is needed to convert the main system voltage to the desired voltage. E.g. in a system with 24V leisure batteries, a DC-DC converter converts 24V to 12V to power any 12V appliances.

You can use the Orion DC-DC converters for both lead-acid and lithium batteries. We stock models up to 1000W.

Suitable for high temperatures up to 55°C with a full rated output up to 40°C.
