Introducing: The new 300A Victron SmartShunt Battery Monitor
We’re excited to introduce the the new 300A Victron SmartShunt, now available at Nohma! The SmartShunt is an all-in-one battery monitor without a display. So, access all of your data on your phone via Bluetooth. While it maintains the same compact design as the 500A version, the 300A model is tailored for systems with lower power demands. So, it's ideal for monitoring smaller campervan and marine electrical systems where the total system current is less than 300A.

Key features of the 300A SmartShunt
One of the key advantages of the 300A SmartShunt is that it’s more affordable than the 500A version. Providing the same great features like Bluetooth monitoring via the VictronConnect app, but without the extra current capacity you may not need. It’s the perfect balance of performance and cost, offering a great solution for setups that require less power.
You get the same seamless control and performance, but at a more optimised capacity for less power-intensive applications.
Victron battery monitors
Victron Energy have a range of battery monitors, namely the BMV battery monitor and the SmartShunt. Both are Bluetooth enabled, allowing for seamless monitoring via the Victron Connect app. However, the BMV additionally has a screen. Battery monitors should be used in any system where your battery doesn't already have a built-in battery monitor.
Additionally, you may need to use a Victron battery monitor if you plan on using a Cerbo GX. By using a Victron battery monitor, you can connect your battery to the Cerbo for full system monitoring. If you opt for a Fogstar Drift PRO battery, these can interface directly with a Cerbo, so in this case, a battery monitor isn't required.
Which SmartShunt do I need?
Not sure which SmartShunt you need? The number in the name (i.e. 300A) is its current rating. So, a 300A SmartShunt can handle a maximum of 300A. In comparison, the 500A SmartShunt can handle up to 500A. Once you've worked out your maximum system current, ensure that the SmartShunt you choose (along with busbars, switches, etc.) is rated higher than this.
